Of all the things in your wedding planning, this is the one item on your wedding checklist that you’ve been waiting for!

Now that you’ve taken care of many important tasks in your wedding to do list, it’s time for you to look for your wedding dress and wedding accessories.

Before your first fitting, be sure to select your bridal shoes (for hemming) and high quality lingerie (for the way your gown will look).

Wedding Planning Tip: Your wedding day will be the one day you will want to look your most feminine and most beautiful. Ensure your lingerie doesn’t show any bumps so you have a seamless look.

Try on several styles of wedding gowns until you find the one that’s perfect for you.

If you’re unsure or you have to be “convinced” that’s it’s perfect, then it may not be the right wedding dress for you.

Your wedding dress is one of the most important items on your wedding checklist because you’re going to be the center of attention on your dream wedding day. Take time to choose the wedding dress that makes you look stunning.

The next item on your wedding checklist will be selecting wedding reception music.

In a previous item on your wedding checklist – when you chose your wedding vendors – you decided on either a DJ or a live band (or both if you’re going all out with a lavish wedding).

The advantage of a DJ is that you’ll have a wide range of songs from original artists.

A live band, on the other hand, brings a different “vibe”  to the wedding reception with its high energy and enthusiasm that quickly kicks things into a party atmosphere.

You might select a live band, for example, that fits in with your wedding theme – a Country band or a Rock band or a band that plays traditional wedding reception music.

Or you might want a band that plays jazz or swing or oldies from a particular decade such as the ’80′s.

You don’t have to necessarily make a final choice about your wedding reception music right now.

But at this point in your wedding checklist you’ll want to gather ideas for your wedding reception music play list in discussions with your DJ or band leader.

This item on your wedding checklist or wedding to do list is about choosing music for your wedding ceremony – depending where you will be holding it.

Select your wedding ceremony music in consultation with the church organist or musician.

In addition to, or instead of, the church organist, you can choose a musician who plays the piano, flute, or harp, for example.

And, you might decide to retain a musician or group of musicians for an outdoor wedding such as a beach themed wedding or backyard wedding.

Decide whether you want traditional wedding music or something that shows your personal style – such as Classical, Country, or Gospel music.

Be sure to consult with your wedding officiant for guidelines on what type of wedding music can be played at the wedding ceremony before choosing your wedding music.

Traditional wedding ceremony music, which is usually played by the church organist, consists of four parts: Prelude (as the wedding guests arrive for the ceremony), Processional (as your bridal party walks down the aisle), Bridal Entrance (as you walk down the aisle), Recessional (as you and your new husband walk up the aisle after being married), Postlude (as the wedding guests leave the ceremony.)
